Although I understand it has dropped off dramatically, from what I hear. But you are right about the CW thing and increasing business. I can't say more because I will sound bitter, given that I own a cupcake shop in the same town. Some customers pleading me to answer that question. And could I please tell them just exactly she won in the first place. Like how she only baked 1,000 cupcakes a day and would not even bother to announce that she was running low to the line. We upped our production by tripling what we normally do and I still did not have enough to last me till closing. While I didn't have a line for hours like she did, I was just as busy and sold out every day. Want something to do with the kids, go get a cupcake. She had her show on the week before February recess. I bet you I know which one you are talking about. So, if you want to increase business- go on CW! She's now looking at opening another location. I can't believe what it did to boost her business. I will say, after winning Cupcake Wars, she had people lined up for days, often waiting in the rain to try her cupcakes. My finished cupcakes were nothing memorable and looked amaturish. Long lists of flavors were listed, but in reality, only 2 or 3 were available. Either that, or the bakers are given the theme of the show beforehand so they come pre-prepared and the whole thing is scripted to make it look like the theme is a surprise. They must film the bit where the bakers come up with the ideas then stop the countdown while people go and source all the stuff. Some of the things they put into the batters/frostings can be pretty unusual, especially for those who do gluten-free/vegan etc, so I simply cannot believe the show has everything there on hand. One thing I don't believe about the show is that the contestants literally come up with their ideas on the spot and miraculously all the ingredients they need are there.

CUPCAKE BAKER MALE TV

You can bet that if they can do gross things like that on national TV then they are doing the same - and worse - when no-one's looking in their bakeries. I think the thing that gets me is when they taste something & then stick that same spoon back in the batter/icing to get a taste for someone else. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who's noticed the serious lack of hygiene on the show.

<-Does not have matching bows, tutus, and would probably need traction if I attempted a cartwheel.Īwesome! just what I need first thing on a very cold tuesday morning Thanks! Cartwheels, drama, matching bows in your hair, tutus. You have to produce a slick audition tape, be good on camera, and "have lots and lots personality and wow factor", as I was told by a casting director that contacted me about auditioning. Ya'all have to understand, they are *not* looking for bakers, they are looking for people to give them good TV. He built his mini empire from, like, nothing and is a really giving, super cool person. Anyway, I don't love his cupcakes, but he's a good guy. I was surprised to see him get to the end making his micro mini cupcakes, I've never seen that before on the show - it's literally making 1/3 of the cake the other contestant made. That would be Brandon of Mission Minis here in SF, and he's been on twice now. No one wears gloves (I don't either but I'm one person and I wash my hands constantly).Ī guy wearing gloves on Cupcake Wars did a cartwheel and went back to touching cupcakes right after his gloved hands were on the floor!
